Post-Amorous Shrugs
Cross your path on the street,
I’m crucified by your stare.
You see me as imitation,
Because when you needed me I couldn’t truly be There.
A thousand miles, and that’s the closest we’ve ever been.
A thousand smiles, and still curious about what else could have been.
A thousand reasons to hate but only need one to love.
A thousand tears were made, but wiped away with amorous hugs.
Cross your path on the street,
I’m crucified by your body language.
You silently scream at me,
Shooting fifty caliber accusations. That’s very dangerous.
A thousand miles, and that’s how far we are.
A thousand smiles, forgotten underground with iron ore.
A thousand reasons to hate but only need one to love.
A thousand tears were made, but wiped away with post-amorous shrugs.
